2. Description of Service

Athlet.es is a platform that connects athletes with fans through verified profiles, team affiliations, and social engagement features. We provide:

  • Athlete and coach profile creation and management
  • Team and organization roster management
  • Fan following and engagement features
  • Social media integration and verification
  • Athletic achievement tracking and display

3. Eligibility

To use our Service, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information

Parents or guardians may create accounts on behalf of minors under 18, but assume full responsibility for the minor's use of the Service.

4. User Accounts

Account Creation

When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information
  • Keep your account credentials secure
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

Account Types

  • Fan Account: Follow athletes and teams
  • Athlete Account: Create profile, claim roster positions
  • Coach Account: Create profile, manage team associations

5. User Content and Conduct

Content Guidelines

You retain ownership of content you post, but grant us a license to use it. You must not post content that:

  • Violates any laws or regulations
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains false or misleading information
  • Is defamatory, harassing, or threatening
  • Contains malware or harmful code
  • Impersonates another person or entity

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Create multiple accounts for the same person
  • Share or sell account access
  • Use automated systems to access the Service
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures
  • Interfere with other users' use of the Service
  • Collect user data without permission

6. Instagram Integration

When connecting your Instagram Professional account:

  • You must have a legitimate Instagram Business or Creator account
  • Your Instagram username becomes your Athlet.es URL
  • You authorize us to access and display your public Instagram information
  • You must follow @athlet.es on Instagram
  • You must add athlet.es link to your Instagram bio
  • We reserve the right to revoke usernames for policy violations

7. Team and Roster Claims

When claiming roster positions:

  • You must be legitimately affiliated with the team
  • Claims may require approval from team administrators
  • False claims may result in account suspension
  • Teams can set limits on roster positions
  • Disputes will be resolved at our discretion

8. Intellectual Property

Our Property

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Athlet.es and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your License to Us

By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display your content in connection with the Service.

Feedback

Any feedback or suggestions you provide may be used by us without compensation or attribution to you.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE CONTINUOUS, UNINTERRUPTED, OR SECURE ACCESS TO THE SERVICE.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ATHLET.ES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Athlet.es, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.
